The chemistry department is a caring, close - knit community offering students the opportunity to study with exciting faculty doing cutting - edge research in a variety of research areas, including biochemistry, chemistry education, biophysical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, natural products synthetic chemistry, computational chemistry, and nano - materials chemistry.
After graduation, most of our students continue with their scientific career as chemical researchers, medical physicians and veterenarians, dentists, perfumists, university professors, and many other professions.
Our graduates have had successes in gaining acceptance into graduate and medical schools, such as, California Institute of Technology, University of Illinois at Urbana Champagne, Vanderbuilt, John Hopkins, and Duke University to name a few.
Our faculty publish with their students in major journals, such as JACS, JPhysChem, Angewandte Chemie, and Tetrahedron.
Our faculty have also published chapters in distinguish books, such as Structure & Bonding: Photofunctional Transition Metal Complexes (SpringerLink).
