Professor Yen Nguyen has research experiences in electron transfer processes through molecular wires and enzymes. Her past research involved the synthesis of small molecules, laser spectroscopy, and protein expression and purification. Prior to joining SBC, she spent two years at the University of Sydney doing research in X-ray crystallography. Her current research focus involves computational studies and synthesis of novel amphiphiles for the purpose of membrane protein crystallography. In short, her work is fundamentally chemsitry involving biological systems using physical techniques.
