Sweet Briar College invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of physical chemistry beginning August 2008.  This is a two-year appointment with the possibility of conversion to tenure-track at the end of the 2009-2010 academic year.  The successful candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to teaching, to maintain an active research program with undergraduates, and to be a full member of the Sweet Briar College community. Primary teaching responsibility will be in physical chemistry with additional contributions at the introductory and advanced levels.

Applicants must have a PhD in physical chemistry or related area and should have a strong record of research.  Postdoctoral experience is preferred.
